Tomorrow's Prices - Predict future stock prices
Tomorrow’s Prices - Today!
If you allow your mouse-pointer to hover over the various icons on the toolbar of the main TomorrowsPrices screen, the purpose of each icon will be displayed. You may also find it useful to refer to the information provided when you choose the 'About' selection on the TomorrowsPrices toolbar. To carry out a prediction, you will need a file of 'Open', 'High', 'Low' and 'Close' data for the asset you wish to trade. You will also need access to real-time prices for the asset while you're engaged in day-trading. You can download these 'OHLC' files from various sources on the Internet; we have provided links to some of these on our charts page. Once you've located the required file, you should save it on your computer (probably in your "My Documents" folder). The file MUST be in the correct format, which means that each record should contain the following fields: 'Date', 'Open', 'High', 'Low' and 'Close', in that order. It may also contain additional fields following those, such as 'Volume' etc. The program will also accept files from EODDATA.COM, which have fields preceeding the DATE field. The fields must be separated from each other by a Tab (Text format), or a Comma (CSV format). The program does contain a tool to convert space-separated files to CSV format. You may bring such a file into TomorrowsPrices using 'Copy & Paste'. You must use the program's 'Paste' command to do this, which is in the 'Edit' menu Once you have the required file saved on your computer, you can 'Open' it from the 'File' menu (or from the 'Open' icon) on the main TomorrowsPrices screen. The file will be displayed on the screen as you open it. Take a look at the displayed file, as sometimes files downloaded from the Internet are in reverse-chronological order (i.e. they have the latest day at the top of the file). The program requires that the file be in chronological order (oldest day at the top, latest day at the bottom). There is a 'Reverse' tool on the program to fix this. If you want to see how the program performs for your selected asset, select "Historic Predictions of Direction and Movement" from the "Predict" menu. You will be provided with a history of how well the program would have predicted the movement and prices for each day in your file. You will also be provided with a summary of performance over the entire period covered by the file. It's important to note that your predictions should be much better than those historical ones displayed on the screen. You have access to within-day prices to improve your forecast, whereas the program does not have this information. When trading next opens, you can enter the opening price into the program. Use the 'Predict' menu for this, or the correct icon. You will then be given a history of how well the program would have performed on this file, with the program's prediction of movement and prices at the very bottom of the display. You can improve the quality of the predictions if you enter another price into the program after the start of trading. This will provide an improved forecast of the probability of it being an 'Up' or 'Down' day, and of what the prices will probably be. Once you believe that you have detected the first turning point (this would be either LOW or HIGH for the day - and it might be the opening price), the quality of predictions can be further improved. Thus, as well as the opening price and the first turniing point (which, as we've mentioned, could be a repetition of the opening price), you can enter a third price for the day. Rerun the prediction and a more closely defined second second turning point will be predicted. On those days where, for example, an 'upwards' day is predicted, and the price starts to climb from the opening, you may wish to assume that the 'Open' price will be the low for the day. If you assume this, and it turns out to be the case, then the forecast can be improved even further. You can save the predictions by using the 'Save' selection on the 'File' menu (or the 'Save' icon on the toolbar); you'll have the choice of saving in HTML, Text or CSV formats. On longer files, only the last 120 days of historical predictions are displayed on the screen, whereas predictions for the entire file are displayed from the saved file. Once the trading day is completed you can enter today's O, H, L and C into the system by using the 'Edit' menu (or the correct icon). This will add the latest OHLC data to your file without having to download the file again, That's about all there is to it. Good luck!
